Centennialista Filipino Association officers and representatives had the honour of meeting Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III, Chairperson of the Philippine Commission on Higher Education, during his visit to Centennial College.
The meeting was also attended by Philippine Consul General Orontes V. Castro and Vice Consul RJ Sumague, bringing together representatives from Philippine higher education, diplomatic service and the Filipino community in Canada.
For Centennialista, this engagement marked a meaningful moment in the organization’s journey. It provided an opportunity to represent the voices, experiences and aspirations of Filipinos at Centennial College and within the broader community.
Meeting leaders who serve Filipinos in education and international relations reinforced the importance of building connections between institutions, government representatives and community organizations. These relationships can help create greater awareness, encourage cooperation and open new possibilities for Filipino students, professionals and families in Canada.

The occasion also reflected Centennialista’s continuing commitment to helping Filipinos connect, build meaningful networks and support one another through the spirit of bayanihan.
It was an honour for Centennialista Filipino Association to represent the Filipino community during this important gathering. The experience serves as a reminder that community involvement creates opportunities for our voices to be heard and our culture to be recognized.
As Centennialista continues to grow, it remains committed to strengthening relationships, celebrating Filipino identity and creating spaces where members can learn, lead and contribute to the community.
Together, we connect. Together, we represent. Together, we move forward
