Centennialista Filipino Association proudly concluded Pinay Pride, an inspiring celebration honouring the strength, resilience and achievements of Filipinas making a meaningful difference in Canada and around the world.
The event brought members of the community together to learn from remarkable Filipina leaders, celebrate shared experiences and recognize the qualities that allow women to lead with purpose and create lasting impact.
Raising the Filipino Flag on the Global Stage
A special highlight of the event was the inspiring message delivered by Ms. Kara Mei Herrera.

Her words reminded participants that Filipinas have the talent, confidence and determination to proudly raise the Philippine flag on the global stage. Her message encouraged members to recognize their abilities, embrace their identities and pursue opportunities without allowing fear or limitations to define their potential.
Her brilliance and passion made a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
The Qualities of a Filipina Leader
Ms. Vicky Pascual, Founder and President Emeritus of Centennialista Filipino Association, shared three qualities that make Filipina leaders uniquely powerful: empathy, courage and resilience.
Empathy allows leaders to understand and support the people around them. Courage gives them the strength to speak, take action and pursue meaningful change. Resilience enables them to overcome challenges while continuing to move forward with determination.
Her message served as an important reminder that leadership is not defined by a title. It is demonstrated through service, compassion and the willingness to help others succeed.
A Historic Filipina-Canadian Voice
Centennialista was also deeply honoured to receive a special message from the Honourable Rechie Valdez, who made history as the first Filipino-Canadian woman elected to the House of Commons. She also became Canada’s first Filipina Cabinet minister.
Seeing a Filipina-Canadian leader reach such an important position in Canadian public service is a powerful source of inspiration. Her journey demonstrates what is possible when Filipinas are given opportunities to lead, serve and represent their communities.
Her presence and message reminded participants that Filipino women belong in every space where decisions are made and futures are shaped.
Continuing to Celebrate and Uplift Filipinas
Centennialista Filipino Association extends its heartfelt appreciation to the speakers, organizers, volunteers and participants who made Pinay Pride a meaningful and memorable celebration.
Congratulations also go to all the event winners. Your enthusiasm and participation contributed to the energy and success of the program.
Although the event has concluded, its message continues. Let us support Filipina leaders, celebrate their accomplishments and create more opportunities for women to share their voices, talents and experiences.
Together, we can build a community where every Filipina feels empowered to lead with empathy, act with courage and face challenges with resilience.
Mabuhay ang mga Pilipina. Mabuhay ang ating komunidad!
